- Seal it, tape it shut, and tape it flat to a table or window.
- They squish the colors together. What new color appears?
- Try another bag with red and yellow.
Fit it to your child
- Easier: Tape the bag to the floor or high-chair tray and let them pat and press it with flat hands.
- Harder: Before squishing, they guess the new color, then try red and blue to make purple.
Words to use
- squish
- mix
- yellow
- blue
- green
Why it helps
Squishing two colors together and seeing a brand-new one appear is cause and effect they make happen themselves, with zero mess.
Grown-up eyes: Tape the bag well so it can’t open or be chewed. Stay close, and put the bag away when you’re done.
