Confidence & feelings
Teddy school
- Builds: Sharing what they know
- 10 min
- Ages 3–6
- Calm
- No mess
From the house
- Teddies and dolls as students
- Paper and crayons
- A song, book or game they know well
How to play
- Line up the teddies (and you) as the class, and they’re the teacher.
- They teach something they know: a song, the colors, how to wash hands or how to count to five.
- Be a student who sometimes gets it wrong, so they can kindly show you again.
- At the end, they draw a star for each student and tell them one thing they did well.
Fit it to your child
- Easier: They teach just one song or action, and the class claps at the end.
- Harder: They plan a short lesson with three parts, and you raise your hand to ask questions for them to answer.
Words to use
- teacher
- listen
- show
- again
- well done
Why it helps
Teaching shows them how much they already know, and explaining it out loud makes them feel like an expert.
