Origami cup
- Builds: Folding corner to edge
- 10 min
- Ages 5–6
- Calm
- No mess
From the house
- A sheet of printer paper
- Crayons or pencils to stand in it
How to play
- Fold a top corner of the paper down to the opposite side to make a triangle, then crease along its bottom and tear off the extra strip.
- With the long fold at the bottom, fold the right corner across until its tip touches the left edge, keeping the top of the flap level.
- Fold the left corner across to the right edge the same way.
- Fold the top front flap down, turn it over, fold the back flap down, then open the top and stand crayons in it.
Fit it to your child
- Easier: Fold your own cup next to theirs, one step at a time, and help them line up each corner.
- Harder: They teach someone else at home how to fold one, then try a tiny cup from a sticky note for a teddy.

Why it helps
Matching corners to edges and pressing sharp creases trains precise fingers, and they practice following steps in order.
