- Calm
- A little tidy-up
From the house
- Old magazines, junk mail or wrapping paper
- A glue stick
- A sheet of paper
How to play
- Show them how to tear: one hand pulls toward them, the other away.
- They tear a big pile of pieces. The tearing is the fun part.
- Rub glue on the paper, then they pat the pieces on.
- Hang it up and tell someone about it at dinner.
Fit it to your child
- Easier: Start each tear for them, and use soft paper like newspaper or tissue.
- Harder: Draw a simple outline, like a fish or a house, and they fill each part with torn pieces of one color.

Why it helps
Tearing makes both hands work together and builds finger strength, and choosing where each piece goes is real art-making.
