Where’s your nose?
- Builds: Naming body parts
- 10 min
- Ages 1–2
- Calm
- No mess
From the house
- A teddy or doll
- A mirror (optional)
How to play
- Sit facing each other, or in front of a mirror, and touch your nose: “Here’s my nose. Where’s your nose?”
- Gently touch their nose and name it, then try eyes, ears, mouth, tummy and toes.
- Find the same parts on teddy: “Where are teddy’s ears?”
- Ask without pointing yourself, and celebrate when they find the right part.
Fit it to your child
- Easier: Name one part at a time during a cuddle while you gently touch it: “Toes, toes, toes.”
- Harder: Add trickier parts like elbow, knee, chin and eyebrows, then let them ask you.

Why it helps
Touching a part as they hear its name ties the word to something real, and pointing lets them show they understand before they can say it.
